Deadpool, Mad Max, and the future of movie soundtracks

In this episode presented by Aloft Hotels, we spoke to Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL, who is a DJ/producer turned film composer changing the way films are scored. He’s part of a new class of commercial or popular producers getting into the composing scene, and instead of using a traditional full orchestra, he often records an entire soundtrack in his studio using synths and instruments he’s created. He composed the scores for Deadpool, Mad Max: Fury Road and Batman vs Superman. He is currently working on the new Terminator and Sonic the Hedgehog soundtracks.
